Corporate Wellness Educator
Health & Wellness Coach
Brain Health Certified
I still live in Rock Hall, and now I have children, I'm married, I have an A.A.S. degree in Physical Therapy Assisting, a B.A. in Liberal Studies and I am a certified Holistic Health Coach, Brain Health Coach, one of the founders, vice president and secretary of the Chester River Wellness Alliance (crwell.org) and a member of the American Association for Drugless Practitioners. Becoming a health coach changed my life! One thing I learned was that I didn't need to do it alone - it was OK to ask for help and I now hire coaches or seek advice whenever I feel I need to make a change in my life.
In August 2016 the trajectory of my career changed. I started corporate wellness programs and workshops and quickly realized that Corporate Wellness and Program Development are avenues that I love and so now my life looks something like this...
Corporate Wellness Education - I teach classes as well as offer presentations to the general public and health coaches. The presentations are full of current cutting edge information about health & wellness and inspire employees to improve their lifestyle.
The presentations can be found in my store, they can be purchased by individuals seeking more information or by health professionals wanting to teach a workshop. The presentations are in their editable powerpoint form so that you can add your logo, ideas or notes.
Stroke Specialist - I have 27 years experience as a stroke recovery and rehabilitation specialist. In addition, I have personal experience rehabilitating my father after he had a massive stroke and I became one of the best rehabilitation therapists in my field. With my knowledge and experience I am getting ready to launch my first book, a Stroke Support & Survival Guide! It will be a How-to program that guides the caregiver through the overwhelming stages that occur after stroke.
Holistic Health Coach - My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills, my knowledge of different dietary theories, and extensive experience, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
Integrative Leadership - In February of 2020 I will become a graduate of Duke University's Integrative Leadership Program. Integrative Medicine provides customized, patient-centered healthcare that combines conventional medicine with proven complementary techniques that motivate, assist and optimize a client's health. With an emphasis on prevention and wellness, I address the whole person — mind, body, spirit, and community. Caring relationships, honest, open communication and focused attention empower my patients to fully engage the healing process and embrace lifelong wellness.
I love to read about other people, learn about them and what they've done in their lives. Now it's my turn to be put in the spotlight...
My name is Kathi and I live and grew up in a small fishing town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (Maryland is divided by the Chesapeake Bay and I live on the right side of it).
I didn't always have it easy growing up. After high school I found myself working full-time and attending the local community college full time. Both my work and my college were an hour and 15 minutes away from my home. I was burning the candle at both ends and in the middle. I was getting run down and at the age of 19, I was diagnosed with Epstein Barr Virus, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Hypothyroidism. I was sick.
But that was then and this is now...
